History

Since 2014, our Community warmly invites you from to EMBRACE — Berlin TangoCommunityFestival. You can dance from Tuesday to Monday (almost) around the clock in more than in 30 Milongas, Tango cafés, practicas, workshops, after-work milongas, tango nights and after-hours. The unique program will be jointly created by dancers, organizers, DJs, schools, teachers, musicians and artists. Our main goal: 7 DAYS FULL OF TANGO!

https://embrace-berlin.de/festival-embrace-in-berlin-wie-phoenix-aus-der-asche-von-thomas-kroeter/EMBRACE emerged from a crisis: In the year 2013 a tango festival was cancelled, two more were discontinued. At round tables, the community met to bring a new beginning together. Since then, the principles of openness apply (everyone can contribute after the VERANSTALTERPRINZP), sustainability (the festival relies on the existing structures) and cooperation (effort and risks are distributed on several shoulders). After the first edition, author Thomas Kröter tells the success story of Embrace in the journal Tangodanza.

Unique in the world

A glimpse into the EMBRACE festival is a TV article by choreographer Mora Godoy: The Argentine dancer and Coreographin attended embrace 2017 with a camera team and turns a one-hour documentary. Embrace Berlin is one of eight stations in its eight-part series Ciudades de Tango, which led them to Europe, Asia and North America. The trailer gives an impression.

How is EMBRACE seen?

What is the idea of EMBRACE? How is it understood outside? The dancer, DJ and organizer Horcia Godoy has made his personal thoughts in the interview with 030tango in the year 2016.

Of course, this is-like any other-a private opinion. For us, the Iniatoren and doers, each edition of EMBRACE is a unique one, which results from the interaction of the Berlin tango scene: EMBRACE is EMBRACE .
